Why Should I Get Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns are a versatile solution to a variety of dental problems. They can be used to protect a weak tooth from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth. If you have a severely worn down or broken tooth, a dental crown can restore its shape and function. Dental crowns can also cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn't much of the original tooth left. Not only do they restore the functionality of your teeth, but they also improve the aesthetic aspect of your smile, giving you an extra boost of confidence.

The Benefits Of Dental Crowns

Improved Oral Health

Dental crowns can significantly improve your oral health. By protecting a weak or damaged tooth, they prevent further damage and potential tooth loss. This not only helps to maintain the health of your remaining natural teeth but also prevents issues such as jawbone deterioration that can occur with tooth loss.

Enhanced Aesthetics

Dental crowns are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. They can be made to match the color, shape, and size of your existing teeth, providing a natural-looking solution to tooth damage or decay. With dental crowns, you can smile with confidence, knowing that your teeth look great.

Long-Lasting Solution

With proper care and regular dental check-ups, dental crowns can last for many years. They are a long-term solution to tooth damage and decay, providing a durable and reliable restoration.

The Dental Crown Process

Examination and Preparation

The first step in the dental crown process is a thorough examination of your oral health. Our Katy dentist will check the condition of your teeth and determine if a dental crown is the best solution for you. If a dental crown is deemed necessary, the tooth will be reshaped to accommodate the crown, and an impression of the tooth will be taken.

Crown Creation

The impression of your tooth will be sent to a dental lab, where your custom crown will be created. This process can take a few weeks, but rest assured, a temporary crown will be placed on your tooth to protect it in the meantime.

Crown Placement

Once your dental crown is ready, you'll return to Simply Smile Dental Studio. Dr. Pham will remove the temporary crown and carefully place the new, permanent crown over your tooth, ensuring a perfect fit. The crown is then cemented into place, providing a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing solution to your dental problem.
